The time is getting close for you to lodge your annual tax return.

But did you know the cut off date? Depending on your situation, these deadlines will vary. Here’s what you need to know:

Are you a taxpayer lodging via MyGov?

If you are a taxpayer and you are lodging via MyGov, the Tax Lodgement due date is Monday 31st October 2022.

Are you a taxpayer who is on an accountants ATO Client List?

If you are added to an accountants ATO Client List prior to Monday 31st October 2022, assuming you have no overdue lodgements, the Tax Lodgement due date for you is Monday 15th May, 2023.

Are you a taxpayer with a tax bill who is on an accountants ATO Client List?

If you are a taxpayer with a tax bill and you have been added to an accountants ATO Client List prior to Monday 31st October 2022, you will have an extended payment due date pending the Tax Lodgement Date, as shown below. Additionally, we are able to delay lodgement until May in order to give clients time to set aside enough money to pay their tax bills.

  • If lodged before the end of February, the payment due date would be March

  • If lodged after March the payment due date would be the following month
